Halo 3: ODST shows how Bungie have taken their gamers comments and fine tuned them into the most enjoyable Halo game (in my opinion) yet. Set before the events of Halo 3, ODST drops you, a Rookie, into Covenant controlled New Mombasa. How ODST differs from the other Halo games is that you play as different characters that are situated on different locations of the map. It’s a refreshing little twist that causes you to have to remember the aim of each character and what your next move should be. The navigation has also improved allowing for easier movement over the map and the inclusion of NINOX vision helps differentiate enemies from friendlies. Although substantially shorter than the other games Halo 3: ODST is a worthwhile addition to your collection.

Set about twenty years or so before the first Halo game Halo Wars is a much needed addition to the Halo franchise. Quick thinking and ingenuity are needed to succeed as you command different types of troops to build a base and uncover the secrets of the Covenant. Halo Wars falls under the strategy genre as you must multi task fighting, building and maintenance. The cut scenes are more dialogue orientated than those you see in the other Halo games but they're enjoyable. The story line is a little hazy to follow and most of the time you are to consumed by the smaller tasks that you have to do that the overall game mission disappears. A smart mouthed A.I system, a very confident Sergeant and homicidal religious cult are just some of the reasons I recommend you go out and get yourself a copy.
